TONAL ADJUSTMENT / GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Performed when players have difficulty in playing or when instrument is experiencing humidity changes.

CRACK REPAIR
Cracks can be caused by accidents or extreme changes in weather. Once suspicious, do not hesitate to send your instrument for an assessment or repair to prevent it from worsening.

NEW BRIDGE
Required when an old bridge is warped. Certain tonal adjustments can also be achieved with the fitting of a new bridge.

FINGERBOARD RESURFACING
To prevent buzzing noises caused by strings in contact with the fingerboard or when the longitudinal concavity is too deep and makes playing uncomfortable.

PEG FITTING / ADJUSTMENTS / RE-PLUG
Lubrication is required when pegs become difficult to turn. For ill-conditioned pegs, rebushing and new pegs may be required.

NEW SOUNDPOST
Proper placement of the soundpost is essential to how your instrument would sound. A new soundpost is synchronous to tonal adjustments.

RE-GRADUATION AND NEW BASSBAR
Carried out when all the above options do not improve sound. Thinning down the violin top and back would help improve plate vibrations. A new bassbar would improve the transmission of vibration from the bridge to the rest of the violin top. Note: Such a job will alter the tone completely but often for the better.

REHAIRING
A bow requires rehairing when it loses "bite" with the strings or when the hair colour turns dark. It is advisable to rehair your bow every 6 months if used frequently.

RE-CAMBERING
A bow loses its "spring" and tension over time. Re-cambering adds more "spring" to the stick. Re-cambering a warped stick can also straighten it.

FULL CHEVAL (FROG REPAIR)
A process to make a bow frog fit perfectly to the bow. It normally involves adding more ebony to the frog and changing the silver plate.

BROKEN TIP REPAIR
Bows are most vulnerable at the tip. Accidents causing bow tips to be broken or damaged are common. Keep the damaged surface free of dirt and send the bow to a repairer immediately.
